OI FAMILIA!
This week will be short because I am resolving all my stuff for my trip home!!!!

I gave my last testimony in sacrament meeting. Everybody was crying with me. hahaha All of the young women had fun taking pictures with me afterwards.
THIS WEEK- Our beatuiful investigator will get married and FRIDAY she will be baptized. What a wonderful way to end a mission ???? hahaha I am so thankful for all of the experiences God has given me. I truly have seen miracles and seen lives blessed and changed because of the gospel!!!!
I am coming home- to the place where I belong. But the mission, the experience, and my Savior have changed me. I am a new Sister Wheatley. I love my Savior and will serve him the rest of my life.
Until next week!!!! When I will see all your bright shinning faces!!!!!!!!!!!  TE AMO!!!

Week 74-Got to meet Elder and Sister Renlund - Only 18 days left! 2 1/2 weeks!

HEY FAMILIA E AMIGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY TRAVEL PLAN HAS COME! 3 more weeks! I can not believe it!!!! There is a lot of mixed feelings. But I am still out working hard everyday and seeing lots of miracles.
This week I has the special opportunity to meet an Apostle.
Wow! Talk about one amazing experience. I got to sit in a small chapel with 140 missionaries up close and hear him speak to us. We also had the privilege to have 2 of the 70 visit us as well. One spoke in the last conference. Elder Basset. (he is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Elder Renlund- asked to shake the hand of each missionary. He wanted to meet each one of us. When it came my turn- I felt my soul jump for joy. I was so overwhelmed by the spirit that I started to cry (got that one from my mom (; hahaha) He asked me where I was from and what city. I never thought it would be so hard to respond that question in English hahaha. Sister Renlund noticed and gave me a big hug. Wow. She had an extremely strong spirit too!!!!!!

I had been praying to know what God wanted me to know before I left. And I received that answer!

Elder Renlund when he spoke- he said that an apostle means that he is one who is sent and he was sent to send 3 messages for us.
1. He said that from the Quorum of the Twelve, the Prophet, and from Christ himself- He said Thank you.
2. He said that we have a right and an obligation to know why we were called to serve in Joao Pessoa. And that we where called of God to be here at the time we were called.
3. That our President and his wife were called of God and they love us.
I felt the spirit so strong when he spoke the 1st point. I never have felt my Savior so near. Truly was a miraculous day!!!

Love all of you-

Week 73-The gift of free agency.....24 days left!!!!

HEY FAMILIA!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! 30 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!
IT JUST HIT ME!  SEEING MY FLIGHT PLAN.....IT JUST HIT ME
I can not believe it. hahahahahha
I am excited. Nervous. Sad. Happy. Tired. Full of energy. And almost any other kind of emotion.
Wow. Time flew by. It's flying by. Life is short. A mission is EXTREMELY SHORT! haha
This week I learned a lot about our agency to chose. We have been teaching a preparing a beautiful, strong young women to be baptized. She has been going to church for 5 almost 6 months. She is amazing and ready!!!! But for months her parents would not and did not allow her to be baptized. We had been praying and fasting for a miracle. And Saturday we arrived at her house in the right moment. She had been praying to know what to do and we arrived. And we had one of the most spiritual experiences of my mission. We taught the whole family and they agreed to let her be baptized. Sunday came and we waited and waited but she never came. And the end of church she came in and told us that she needed and wanted more time. That she did not want to be baptized. My heart sank. I have never felt sadness like I did yesterday. We talked and I realized that I had done all I could do . It was now her choice. I love this girl so much. But just like our Heavenly Father he will never force us to do whats right or whats wrong. I understand the sadness that God feels when we make mistakes. He loves us so much that he lets us chose.
I am so grateful for his love. I know that he will always want the best for his children. It is up to us to follow or not follow!
Love you all!!! Keep up the good fight!! And chose the right!!!

OI FAMILIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E AMIGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they say you have good weeks and bad ones. This one was a mixture of it all! haha

I was sick all week long. I went to the hospital Thursday. My ear, neck, and nose are inflamed. I have been taking medicine that has been making me sick. SO I barely had a chance to work at all this week. I will be going to a specialist this week because the pain has gone away but the inflammation has stayed! haha my luck!

I am completely fine. Just a little drugged and sick! But everything will get better this week!!!!!!!!!!! The elders called to make fun of me. I am the oldest missionary (time wise) in our zone. They are calling me grandma and making fun that I am getting old and sick. haha

We had interviews with PRESIDENTE XAVIER DIAS! He is amazing! I felt so bad. I came into his office sick and he felt so bad! But it was such a spiritual experience for me. He really is a man inspired and called of God!!!
Well I have to go! I love you all!!!!!!!! Keep up the hard work! I love you! Thank you for all the birthday wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOMORROW! We will have the Mission Conference on my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best present ever!!!!

Week 68-Training, Training, Training !

OI FAMILIA E AMGIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. What a week. What a week.
We had a lot to do and little to no time to do it. hahaha We are working hard and traveling a ton!!!!

We have 5 new missionaries in our zone. Almost everybody is training and new missionaries means a lot of work haha. (not because they are bad) Its a lot more teaching that has to happen.  And we travel, trade, and train all together!!! I love it but Sunday comes and I am dead! hahaa
I am starting to feel old! haha
I am the oldest missionary (time wise) in my zone. Its weird. Almost everyone I know is at home or going home. It is a weird feeling. Also everybody looks to you for advice and I still feel like I need it somedays hahaha But its all really really good.

I have decided that I need to work more with my brain than my feet because I am really tired every single night! hahaha An elder called me the other night to discuss a problem and I couldn't focus on anything that he said haha. I called him back the next day. All was better. haha

I am learning all about beauty with my new comp. I am doing my nails and learning different ways to do my hair and makeup LOVE IT!!! haha I feel pretty hahah (; SISTER TOTA Is extremely funny! We laugh like crazy together!!!

We have started working a richer part of the area. Which is hard to find people. But it hasn't had missionaries yet- so we will be knocking on a ton of doors this week!!!!!!

We have a family that is extremely special to me. We are trying to help them get married so they can be baptized!!!!!!! Eduarda e Adriano and their two kids Everton e Arto!!! Keep them in your prayers!!! Amazing beautiful family!!!

I love you all so much! Thank you for your letters, love and support!!!!!!!!!!!

Week 67-Talks in her sleep in Portuguese! Hee Hee

Hello MY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

God loves you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was a hard one for me. I sent my best friend home from the mission. Gained a new comp (WHO IS AMAZING) but transfers are always tiring. We had 7 sisters living in our house because we have the mission council this week. We had two mattresses for 5 sisters for three days. That was a long night!!! and I got sick.
hahahaha

But .... I have some funny stories and some great experiences!!!!!!! One I talk in my sleep and I started thanking the elders for their help and all the sisters now are giving me a hard time about it. Its official I dream in Portuguese!  haha

Mission Conference was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my leaders so much!
This month will have interviews, conferencia da missao!!!, e MIRACLES! I am excited! oh and MY BIRTHDAY!!! Bishop is really really excited I am going to eat at his house for my birthday!!! I am excited tooo!!!

This week we celebrated my 15 months, Totas 14 months, and Almeidas 2 months and SUBWAY and ice cream was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

General Conference was amazing like always. I love hearing the words of those great men. They truly strengthen me and help me. I received answers to all of my questions and I know that God truly does love his children. The one thing I really learned about was how worried the apostles are about the little things. Pray and keeping the commandments. We need to always be doing the little things or slowing we will fall off the cliff before we realized that we were on it.

I love you all so much!! Remember keep fighting the good fight. The enemy has already lost don't let him win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Story of Josineide and Fabio is a long one but its one of a family who found the truth and did everything to follow their Savior. They sacrificed everything and put all their trust in God.

Some highlights of the week:
The sisters before us got robbed in our house. So president has been trying to find us a new house. This week Sister Chuc and I started to get scared that we would never move so we started to look for apartments in our area. And one day- i think it was Thursday- we started to get really worried and I saw a sign with a number that said RENT really big and I convinced Sister Chuc to call with brownies hehehe and we negotiated with him and long story short- we called presidente he went and visited and we got a NEW APARTMENT!!!! We moved that Friday! We got a steal!!!!! It is the nicest apartment in the mission! WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! hahaha
I have really grown my testimony about the home. A house clean and organized with a good flow can change everything. I LOVE OUR APARTMENT! I can breathe and sleep well. Week 63-Sister Training Leader

OI familia!

Hoje vou ser muito rápido! haha È muito mais fácil de escrever em portuguese do que inglês! haha Não vou escrever mais haha!

This week was crazy!!!!!
I went out on 3 splits! I got to go back to my old area SANTA RITA! It was amazing to see all the members and remember all of the special experiences I had there!!!
It was fun because I surprised a few members who were really special to me and we had some really special moments together!

Mom had some questions. As a sister training leader- our responsibility changes a lot depending on the mission. Here I am the special help for the Zone leaders-know how their sisters (because they can´t go out on splits with them and they cant visit them or their areas) So thats my job. I am responsible for the spiritual and physical welfare of the sisters!

We had the council meeting this week! I LOVE PRESIDENTE DIAS!!!!!!!! I left that meeting so spiritually uplifted and ready to work! And an Sister in my ward made all the food- it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she made my favorite Lemon Cake! I love her!!!! She is actually making us lunch today!!!!!! She is amazing! (She is the bishops wife and the mom to our ward mission leader! haha)

Anybody have a good apple pie recipe???????????? An Sister in the ward really wants one!!! Or one really easy to make?? (She made me an apple crisp dessert with ice cream and I couldn't help but think about our family's reunions!)

We are working hard and loving Tambau! There are a lot of apartment complexes here so we are working on ideas to get into the building and teach the people there!
We are teaching a ton of families but almost all of them need to get married. Very few people get married here. Because the marriage process costs a lot of money and people have lost the importance of it all; Are greatest difficulty is helping people see the importance of marriage and the family! We have some wedding planned for the end of the month! We are excited and I LOVE PLANNING! hahaha

Well I love you all so much! Know that GOD LIVES! He created his commandments to bring happiness and joy to our lives. THE COMMANDS ARE THE WAY WE GAIN BLESSINGS! You will be more free through obeying them than another way!

Week 58-Do I have any stories about how the gospel changed people's lives?

HI FAMILIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OI!!!!

I got a really great question today. (Do I have any stories about how the gospel changed people's lives?)

I love that question. The answer is I have millions!!!!!!! I have seen soooooo many lives blessed and changed because of the gospel if they accepted it or not. I have seen people with no hope-now have more hope than a child! I have seen people cry until the tears could not fall anymore - smile until their faces hurt. I have seen the gospel move families, friendships, homes, wards, and even groups of school kids! I have seen the gospel take a drunk off the street and bring him eternal happiness with his family. I have seen the gospel bring answered questions to man, women, teens, and children who were lost. I have seen the miracle of the atonement working in all of us.
The gospel really does change lives. I love my Savior so much! I know without a doubt that he lives and there is only one way to find true happiness. I know it because I have seen it.

But you wanna know the greatest thing. I have seen the gospel change many lives but I have also seen the effect that it has had in my own life. The gospel has changed my life. I am happy. I am truly happy.

The greatest story I have is mine. The gospel of my Lord and Christ moved my life.

I only want to serve my God. And I will for the rest of my life. It doesn't mean the journey will be easy its actually means the contrary, but its the only thing I want to do. I love it!!!!

I love you!

Week 57-Ward Activity

HEY FAMILY!!!! E AMGIONS!!!

HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL WORKING HARD, PLAYING HARD, and ENJOYING THE LAST WEEKS OF SUMMER.

I am enjoying the last few weeks of winter and what is called cold here. hehehe

Its really rainy the last few weeks. Thats been fun hahahaha!!!! I have broken two umbrellas- the wind is really strong!

We are working really hard to find people to teach and this week we put together a ward activity where 59 PEOPLE WENT AND 12 INVESTIGATORS! It was a huge success; the biggest missionary activity that I have seen here had about 30-35 people. We blew out the record!! We did crazy unity activities and ate ice cream!!!!!! It was so much fun! But my voice was dead afterwards because I was yelling so much to organize everybody! haha BUT IT WAS AMAZING!!!!

We are having a p-day da zona! I am going to teach all the missionaries how to make brownies and s´mores (on the stove) haha. Everybody is really excited!!! Hope it goes well fingers crossed. (:

I have been studying a ton about Cristo. (christ)  And about his expiação (atonement). I LOVE MY SAVIOR HE IS EVERYTHING TO ME!!! He didn't just suffer for our sins but he also suffered for our pains our sadness and our trials. I love him so much and the more I study the more thankful and grateful I am for him and all he has done for me!

I love you all so much! Continue working hard, playing hard, and serving God!!! If you put him first you will always find true happiness!!!!!!!

Week 56-More about her experience with her new Mission President and his wife

Oi familia!!!!!

TE AMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO I am totally in heaven!!!! I am so happy!!!
We had one of the crazyiest weeks of my life.
We worked hard, basically traveled all of joao pessoa doing things for vistas, doctors, dentisits, interviews, and distrist meetings!!! Which was super wierd to be with the elders. I was as little strange at first haha and then I opened up and was really spiritual and uplifting!!!

I LOVE PRESIDENT DIAS!!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! We have become really good friends. He has the strongest spirit and his sweet wife is amazing!!! They are like my parents!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When my comp was in the hospital- they showed up out of nowhere and stayed with us for 9 HOURS! and took us home at midnight!!! I spend 9 hours talking with him and learning from him! He is so funny, intelligente, and spiritual!! haha I later found out that they hadnt eaten all day and he had went out and bought me dinner with his money for food because I didnt have anything. It was also their P-day! I cried all night because in all of my mission I had never felt so loved by anyone. OI FAMILIA!!!!!!!

I love all of you so much!!!!!!!!!! <3 I hope you all are happy and well!

I learned this week that God really does qualify who he calls!!! I love training and I LOVE MY TWO COMPANHEIRAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a lot of work here in this area! We are working like little worker bees! hahaha Now that the area is bigger we have a lot more people to visit and a LOT more walking to do.

My daughter is a trooper! She is working so hard and her Portuguese is growing REALLY FAST everyday! She has so much confidence- I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My other beautiful comp is RIDICULOUSLY FUNNY! I love her so much!!!

She told us the other day: I speak Portuguese. She speaks English (Goodwin). And she speaks a mixture . (Wheatley)

It has been really good in a trio! Sister Rocha helps with Portuguese and they practice and I help with the translation and training!

We are crazy together! We took the youth out this week and everybody was just laughing and we found 5 new people to teach (people that said that they would go to church with us) !!!!!!! It was an amazing day!

I have got to run! But I want all of you to know that I Iove my Savior sooooo much! I know he will not leave me. I know he will not leave you. Do what is right and have Faith and trust in him. HE LIVES! HOW EXCITING AND AMAZING IS THAT! HE LIVES AND LOVES YOU AND ME!!!! HE LIVES AND IS RUNNING HIS CHURCH TODAY!

Week 52-New Mission President and Sao Joao Festival

OI FAMILIA E AMIGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIZ UM ANO!!!! COMPLETED 1 YEAR!!!!

ITS CRAZY TO BELIEVE THAT I AM 2/3 DONE! We were joking that the time that my comp has been in the field is how much I have left. awww thats scary. only 6.

This week we will have transfers; I have no idea what will happen. 11 sisters are going home and not one is coming in. So a LOT of areas will close for sisters. SO  we are all worried. And PRESIDENTE NOGUEIRA leaves WED! OUR NEW PRESIDENT WILL GET HERE THIS WEEK! AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! hahaha
His name is President Dias. I am excited and nervous. We are expecting many changing and it will be weird. hahaha

This week was really amazing! I love this ward!!!! I love them so much!!!!!!!! Sunday we went and took a TON OF pictures!!! So when you enter the mission field your 1st comp or trainer is your mom. And every week we have two girls who have been going out with us. THEIR NAMES are Thais and Alice. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! But we have come to the conclusion that we are their moms (or trainers) and we call them are daughters!! I love them so much!!! (I am putting a picture) haha

I really love this ward; They have become my family.

SO I AM LEARNING TO COOK BRAZILIAN FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED TO TEACH YOU ALL. It is amazing................ haha

This week was São João! Its like a folk festival. IT IS AMAZING! haha Everyone eats a TON of corn and dances!!!! And they build big bonfires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole area was full of music and smoke! haha for two days! But its really cool! I had a mom in our ward teach me how to make the food and I am so excited, I have to decided to have the São João festival every year of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that was really random and all over the place! But know I love you all so much and I am happy! working hard and happy (: haha

Remember that there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel. There are always light posts along the way too! (: And a man with a torch beside you (;

ATE MAIS!

Week 51-Enjoying the simple things

OI FAMILIA! I AM ALIVE! hehe

Well we are working like CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes I feel like my body is giving out. hahah I will have 1 year in the mission in 2 weeks! THAT IS SO WEIRD! Sometimes it feels like a year and other times it feels like only 2 weeks! haha

The weather is hot! HOT HOT HOT! and then it rains! I LOVE LOVE LOVE RAIN! haha My umbrella broke the other week the head dis-attached from its body haha and so I bought another one! Its soooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!!!! I love it! haha Another thing I have learned on my mission is to enjoy the simple things.

We have been going to the bishop's house EVERY P-DAY! And doing art! I love it! He invites us every week. But its funny we have 3 families that are fighting over our p-days! The whole ward is wanting to hang-out with the sisters! haha I love it!

I have really fell in love with this ward and its members! I really feel at home here! I have so many friends and so much family here!!!! The area is hard but I have never felt like I have had more help and support in all of my mission!!! I feel my saviors love everyday here. Some days I am just exhausted and a little sad and a member stops and just gives me a big hug and/or words of encouragement. The members are always doing little things for us to! I am so thankful for them!!!!

This week really be will be short because the internet is acting up.

I love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!! Have AN AMAZING SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP ME UPDATED ON ALL YOUR TRIPS! <3 (:

Week 50-Advice for cousin headed out soon on mission

FAMILIA E AMIGONS!

SOO yesterday my comps email was down and we didn't get it fixed until today. SO we got permission to email today! (: <3

Spiritual thought of the week:
I learned a really good lesson this week about diligence. Everything has to be done in moderation. I worked myself to death this week and then got sick! haha I learned that we all need to stop sometimes and think about ourselves and also about our happiness. When we are working for the Lord or in anyother aspect of our lives we can not do more than we are physically able. IF WE DO OUR BEST GOD WILL DO THE REST! I really felt gods love and help throughout this week in ways that I can not describe. He lives and truly loves each one of us and everyone of his children. He knows are strengths and weakness, He will always be there to help if we are living and obeying his commands.

I AM SO EXCITED TO HERE ABOUT MY COUSIN ANDREWS CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW GOD HAS SENT HIM TO DO AMAZING THINGS IN COLORADO!!!

He asked me for a few "peepers" and I made a list of things that could help anyone who is preparing to go on a mission.

1. OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY TO EVERYTHING!!! Even if you have to stand alone - STAND ALONE. Be obedient and you will never have to worry God will take care of it all. Obedience is the 1st law of heaven - its the 1st law of the mission. Obey. (There is a very sad fact. Many missionaries did not come on missions to be obedient and they suffer. Learn that obedience is important and fast)

2. Read- two talks "The fourth missionary" by Lawerence E. Corbridge & "Consecrated Missionary." by Tad R. Callister

3.Focus on the basics. You are going to want to study deep doctrine. Study the basics faith, repentance, the atonement, etc. and 1 you will understand the deep doctrine better and 2 you will find the deep doctrine through the study of the basics!

4.DO NOT EAT A TON OF THE MTC FOOD. You will get sick. haha

5.NEVER LOSE FAITH. In yourself, your comp, your investigator, or GOD. Faith is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo important!!!! (even if you are not teaching someone anymore pray for them. one day another missionary like you will find them).

6.Your greatest tools are: pray, fasting, faith, obedience, and hard work (diligence). *and they are bring the SPIRIT*

7. SISTER WHEATLEY HAS TO BE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. EVERY WEEK YOU SEND A LETTER TO YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR COUSIN. haha  <- this is not just advice its a warning (; hehe

8. Know that God sent you to Colorado. He will send you to all your areas and he will put you with all of your comps. You will like and even love some more than others BUT LEARN TO LOVE THEM ALL.

9. Know that God loves you and you are his child. He will NEVER leave you.

10. AND last but not least-

KNOW you are not on a mission for you. you are on a mission for all of the lives who are waiting for you. You are there for the person who needs the gospel- that will one day teach the gospel and touch the lives of thousands.

YOU ARE THERE TO SERVE GOD. If that is baptisms, companions, or your areas. If you are following the spirit and are exactly obedient- you will be doing what God wants you to do! GO WORK HARD (: I know you all will!

.....

Yesterday was so much fun!!!!!! We made little clay dolls that you put on the top of pens. They are so beautiful! I love them!!!! We have started going over to Bishop house every p-day to do ART! I LOVE IT! We are making beautiful things and making amazing Brazilian food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are working hard. We are having a really hard time finding people that will go to church. But we know that God will guide us! Thank you for all your prayers and letters!!!! I love them so much!!!!
